COLUMBIA — Police arrested an 18-year-old man early Friday morning on suspicion of  two counts of second degree burglary, two counts of property damage and two counts of misdemeanor stealing, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.

According to the release, Pryse D. Pribble, of Columbia, was arrested following statements he made related to two burglaries, one at the Break Time at 4 Business Loop 70 E. on Thursday and one at the Midwest Petroleum at 1102 Business Loop 70 E. on Friday.

The burglary at Break Time occurred at about 2:26 a.m. Thursday, where officers found the glass on the front door was broken. A suspect stole items from the store before the police arrived. The Friday burglary at Midwest Petroleum occurred at about 1:47 a.m., where officers also found shattered glass from the front door.

Police saw Pribble when responding to an unrelated call and noticed Pribble’s suspicious behavior and a leg injury consistent with being cut by glass, the release said. Pribble was also in possession of property later determined to have been stolen from the Midwest Petroleum store.

Bond is posted at $11,000. As of 11:45 a.m., Pribble was still being held at the Boone County Jail.
