Nine recruits to graduate from Columbia Fire Department Basic Recruit School

COLUMBIA — After 11 weeks, nine recruits are set to graduate from the Columbia Fire Department Basic Recruit School. 

The public is invited to attend the graduation at 7 p.m. Tuesday, in the Columbia City Council Chambers of the Daniel Boone City Building, 701 E. Broadway.

Colors will be presented followed by remarks from Fire Chief William Markgraf.  Refreshments will follow the ceremony. 

Recruits working in Columbia will be assigned a veteran field training officer for further training and guidance. 

Ryan Adams, Tyler Beauchamp, Jon Cook, Wesley Hanks, Jeff Heidenreich, Samantha Lamp and Doug Ritchie will work for the Columbia Fire Department. Nathaniel Nevels and Kyle Gilmore will work for the Sedalia Fire Department.

They will be needed for sure to fill those new fire stations in the future.

I wonder if the new recruits will be required to go out daily and "spit polish" all of that ugly art work that is coming with those new stations.
