Missouri’s Chase Daniel was named the 2008 Preseason All-Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year on Thursday. Daniel received the honor through a media vote.
Auston English, a defensive end with Oklahoma, was named Big 12 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Earlier, another media vote chose Missouri and Oklahoma as the two schools likely to meet in the Big 12 Title game.
Other Missouri players receiving recognition were Chase Coffman, senior tight end; senior offensive lineman Colin Brown; sophomore wide receiver Jeremy MacLin; and senior kicker Jeff Wolfert on the first team offense.
Junior linebacker Sean Weatherspoon; defensive back William Moore; and Maclin, as punt returner, also were named to pre-season first teams.
