ST. LOUIS — A date is set for Archbishop Raymond Burke’s farewell Mass in St. Louis.

The Archdiocese of St. Louis says the Mass will be at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Cathedral Basilica.

Last month, Burke was named as the first American to lead the Vatican supreme court.

At the Mass in St. Louis, Burke will be the principal celebrant and homilist. A reception in his honor is planned afterward.

Burke is expected to leave St. Louis for Rome in late August.
