CAPE GIRARDEAU — Police in Cape Girardeau are investigating after a bullet was shot through a window of the Common Pleas Courthouse.

No one was hurt.

The bullet hole was discovered Tuesday in a courtroom on the upper floor. Police found the slug but didn’t have information about the type of gun it came from.

Authorities believe the shot was fired between 3:45 p.m. Monday and 2:10 p.m. Tuesday.

A clerk at the courthouse says she is unaware of any hate mail recently received at the courthouse.
