Jerry Gene Stone
COLUMBIA — Jerry Gene Stone of Columbia died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital. He was 73.
He was born Feb. 4, 1935, in Boone County to Willard Price and Rosa Mae (Gates) Stone.
Mr. Stone was an Army veteran.
He enjoyed fishing, car racing, traveling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Sherry Wansing of Jefferson City and Marisa Bennett of Linn; a son, Rowlin Stone of Holts Summit; two sisters, Carylon Reuthlinger of Montana and Carla Thomas of Chesterfield; two brothers, Riley Jolley of Iowa and Gary Jolley of Columbia; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His wife, Lora Stone; an infant son, David Stone; two brothers and a sister died earlier.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
