Josephine Sutherland
Josephine Sutherland died on Aug. 13, 2008, at her home in Columbia. She was 90.
She was born March 6, 1918, in Russell, Iowa, to Montague and Nina (Carpenter) May.
She married Eldon E. Sutherland Jr. on Sept. 22, 1938, in Windsor.
She worked for the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations’ Division of Employment Security, and was a member of the First Christian Church in Windsor.
She is survived by her three sons, Richard Dale Sutherland of Bates City, Mont Sutherland of Roanoke, Texas, and Jack Sutherland of Geneva, Ill.; a son-in-law Ron Haeckel of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Her husband; a daughter, Nina Nell Haeckel; and a sister, Jeannette Sayre, died earlier.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor.
