Billy Gene Wise
COLUMBIA — Billy Gene Wise of Sturgeon died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008 at Columbia Regional Hospital. He was 67.
“Everybody enjoyed being around him,” said Robert Wise, Mr. Wise’s younger brother.
Billy Gene liked “being around people, farmers and the homeless, and a lot of them thought a lot of him,” Robert Wise said.
He was born Aug. 17, 1940 in Hallsville to Albert Wise and Edna Mae (Enloe) Wise.
A plumber for 35 years, Mr. Wise was a retiree of MU and worked at Fairway Construction for many years.
Mr. Wise is survived by two children, Bill Wise of Hallsville and Brian Perry of Clark; four grandchildren, Austin, Madison and Jakson Wise and Taylor Gibson; three siblings, Robert Wise, Margaret Wise Salmon and Kenneth Wise; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr Wise’sdaughter, Carla Gibson; six siblings, Ruth Wise Johnson, James Wise, Betty Wise Roberts, Harold Wise, Allene Wise Frazee and Albert Wise; and great-nephew Travis Lee Taft died earlier.
Services will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop W.
